Guro Dennis Servaes earned the Advanced Degree in Cabales Serrada Escrima -(Black Sash with four stripes) and was awarded October 5, 2009, taught by - Grandmaster Vincent Angel Cabales Sr. Guro Dennis Servaes, began training in Cabales Serrada Escrima October of 1992 and is still training towards his Master Degree. Grandmaster Vincent Angel Cabales Sr. has been appointed as Senior Advisor in the Filipino Martial Arts Collective Society, July 5th. 1999 Grandmaster Vincent A. Cabales was inducted into the "Filipino Martial Arts Hall Of Fame" and honored as the "Outstanding Grandmaster Instructor of The Year" by the United States Kali Association, and also inducted into the WORLD SOKE COUNCIL Hall Of Fame. Grandmaster Vincent Cabales Sr. also trained in boxing with the Jauregui brothers in Stockton, California, and was the sparring partner of Fel Clemente. In 2010 Grandmaster Vincent Angel Cabales Sr. was inducted into the World Pugilist Hall Of Fame as the true linage holder of the Cabales Serrada Escrima System. Guro Dennis Servaes was awarded the rank of Black Belt in the art of Kung Fu San Soo - September 26, 2010 awarded by -Sifu Michael Trimble. . Master Michael Trimble studied from Grandmaster Jimmy H. Woo, Master Al Rubin and Master Scott Leitch. Sifu Michael Trimble DOD (retired), worked in Anti-terrorism prior to 9-11, and also served in the F.B.I. and prior to that fought in Viet Nam as a U.S. Marine. Sifu also trained in JKD, and continues training in Cabales Serrada Escrima. Sifu Mike Trimble also writes articles for FMA Digest. Muay Thai - coached by Master Brooks Mason for several years starting about August of 1991. Master Brooks holds a 9th Degree Black Belt and, demands that you train to be the best you can be, otherwise he says the student is being cheated of his potential. Incidentally, Brooks coached Don "the Dragon" Wilson who was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for more World Champion Kickboxing Title wins than anyone else in history. Brooks trained eight world champion kickboxers and was named Trainer of the year by the World Kickboxing Association and was also selected for Kickboxing Hall of Fame in 1985, and 1984 1985 Trainer Of The Year Official Karate Magazine, and is the IKF & ISCF World Ambassador, Representative and Judge. Brooks also "worked the corner" of the ring as the third man in several world title boxing fights at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas and New York's Madison Square Garden.   ·   Master Brooks Mason,  motivation speech. Taekwondo: Dennis Servaes received the rank of Black Belt - March 21, 1989 from Hanshi Bruce Juchnik Hanshi Bruce Juchnik has a first Dan Black Belt in Shotokan Karate, and a 2nd Dan in Taekwondo, a 6th Dan in American Kempo, and a 6th Master Level in Chi Ling Pai Kung Fu of which he is the West Coast Representative. Hanshi Bruce Juchnik studied White Crane Kung Fu, from George Longs. Then Bruce got into Tai Chi Chuan and Northern Shoalin with Sifu Kuo. He also studied briefly the art of Northern Mantis from Brendan Lai. Then in 1973 Hanshi Bruce Juchnik began studying Cabales Serrada Escrima from Grandmaster Angel Cabales. Dentoy Revillar was Angel’s senior student and after he opened a school in Sacramento Hanshi Bruce Juchnik trained with Dentoy. Hanshi Bruce Juchnik after learning Serrada from Angel studied Modern Arnis from Remy Presas. Bruce was the one that got Remy to start traveling to do seminars. Remy understood strategy very well and he was able to entertain people. Hanshi Bruce Juchnik studied Kun Tao and Silat from Willem De Thouras. Willem is very knowledgeable in many styles of Silat and Kun Tao. Hanshi Bruce Juchnik knows Wing Chun and Hung Gar if someone wants to learn. (AYDO System of David Ayers.). Taekwondo: Dennis Servaes earned his red belt in Taekwondo from - Grand Master Jong H. Lee. (Dennis Servaes started Sept. 7, 1972 and trained off and on until about 1979.) Grand Master Jong H. Lee taught military police and the respected White Horse and Tiger Division of ROK Soldiers of South Korea, which fought in Viet Nam. Modern Arnis -Lakan (Black Belt) - Guro Dennis Servaes, was promoted by- Hanshi Bruce Juchnik 9/14/88. Bruce received his Master Degree in Modern Arnis from Grandmaster Remy Presas Sr. Kuntao/Silat - Dennis Servaes studied Kuntao/Silat briefly from Hanshi Bruce Juchnik. Raleigh and his brother George, learned to box from their Father from the age of eleven or so. Raleigh, boxed in the Navy competing for over a decade. I am an instructor of Cabales Serrada Escrima, and I began my training in October of 1992. I've written magazine articles discussing martial arts and more specifically Cabales Serrada Escrima. I have taught at the Cabales Serrada Escrima Academy for over two decades. Comment: Most martial arts only give the practitioners a false sense of security against weapons, yet weapons are involved in the reality of almost any vicious attack, regardless the culture or locality. Although, empty hands against weapons is a last resort we may not have time to get to a weapon when attacked, and it is for that very reason that, Serrada, as a self defense system is a great choice, because Serrada is based upon the use of sword and dagger. Our stick training translates from stick to blade and empty hand fighting techniques that will work effectively against weapons. Self Defense is not a sport so it isn't about fairness; if you sense danger find an equalizer and get to a safe place. Sensing danger is a warning from your subconscious that something isn't right. Pay attention and don't threaten or warn others that you are armed it will just be used against you and besides it eliminates the element of surprise that may help you to survive a vicious ambush. Another point I want to stress is no amount of pain will deter a vicious attack, so instead of hoping to cause pain you must instead indever to injure your attackers, and pain will be a later by-product.
